The 2009 Louis Braille Bicentennial Commemorative Silver Dollar has a maximum authorized mintage of 400,000 coins across all product options. The final mintage will ultimately be the total number of coins sold before the product goes off sale in December, or the maximum authorized mintage if sales reach this level.

As of June 2009, sales have been strong and approach the half way mark for the maximum authorized mintage. The sales totals for the Louis Braille Commemorative as of mid-June 2009 are as follows:

2009 Louis Braille Commemorative Sales
Proof (BR1) 108,558
Uncirculated (BR2) 41,212
